I'm suprised she didn't have to stand there and hold the cup while he finished shaving. At least Mrs. Olson's accent is totally hot.

I think if they re-did this for modern times, and got someone like Cedric the Entertainer to portray the husband, it would be a cult hit. Camp up the acting a bit, and it becomes cheeky as Hell — I think folks would dig it, or at least talk about it (which is the same thing, no?)
Of course, they could re-do it as 3D models, in which case it would seem really creepy.
And who the hell drinks coffee in the bathroom, before you're even done shaving? WTF.

I've drunk coffee in the bathroom before I've been done shaving.

I think this spot makes much more sense if you believe "bad coffee" is code for something else entirely. There. Someone had to say it.

I love that she calls him sir. And I always wondered why Mrs. Olsen had a Spanish accent but was named Olsen. Was she one of the Nazis who fled to in South America only to be reborn in the States as a coffee spokesperson? Ah, capitalism.

Stuff like this, and the Jello spot, are what I think of when I hear someone pining for "the good old days."
Yup, wives were servants and black people couldn't sit just anywhere on the bus.
