What to call it when a campaign goes rogue viral?

In response to the recent Motrin dust-up we'd like to mint an official phrase for campaigns that go viral the wrong way. You may also suggest alternatives in the comments. It should be noted that l'm conviced we're all going to be done in by a global pandemic anyway so, really, this is oddly cathartic for me.

"Bird flu" might be another good option; "That viral campaign totally caught the bird flu"

...or if you want to simplify it a bit, just go with "epidemic"; "that viral campaign turned into an epidemic"

At least they had painkillers for all the headaches this campaign caused... ha

That campaign went all "pocket full of posies" on them

Very tempted to choose 'Answer 5'.

Not to get political or anything. but in the silent commemorative spirit of pre-November 4th:

"That campaign went all Mavericky Palin on them"

Yep, I think you can call it a Motrin after that latest fail by them - that was painful to read about.

Swing and a miss...

How about "Virong"?

"Went Outside the Brief"?

"Subwayed"? (referencing the disastrous Subway agency pitch made by Agency.com/NYC (see all the "fist bumping" action all over YouTube...) Subway denied any intention of even listening to the agency after it got back to them that this live feed onto the web of how they were going to pitch Subway just went bad and got away, everyone got canned, it was a fucking disaster--but it was planned on being "viral"--and was. Just not in the direction they wanted.
