W+K (whoops D6) makes a happiness machine to shame creatives everywhere.

Coke / Coca-Cola - The Happiness machine - (2010) 2:00 (USA)

Shaming creatives with the thought, "Why didn't I think of this?" the Magnificent Bastards strike again. Great, great, great. Makes me happy just looking at it. Thanks to Dabitch for the find.

UPDATE: AAK! We are informed the Magnificent Bastards were NOT the ones responsible for said same. We are happy to correct the record. This beauty was thunked up by Definition 6 in Hotlanta. Great stuff, D6.

Wii would like to see more ads like this, Nintendo.

Remember back in the good ol' days, when men were men and gamers were mostly virgins? When Mario's party was getting busted up by the cops and not crashed by your mom? Well back in those days, friends, there was a little game called Mike Tyson's, I mean Alleged Rapist's, I mean Ear Chomper's Punch-Out!!

We all played it, and we didn't have any fancy motion-sensing controllers to help us knock Glass Joe or King Hippo the f%&* out. No, back in those days we used good, old-fashioned button mashing to take down our 8-bit foes. Well, friends, Punchout!!! is back, and I'll be the first to say that while the jury is out on gameplay until the 18th, the new TV spot is decidedly awesome.

It's an oldie but a goodie from Sullivan Higdon & Sink. Try your hand at the "Beat the Sheep Pinata" game. Hint: Note the level of the sheep pinata before you are blindfolded. Then watch the sheep shadow. Or, hell,  just swing wildly. Enjoy the day, friends.

Note to Brazilian Art Director: Wish you were here!

Coke Zero demonstates deep understanding of basketball glory.

It would seem the magnificent bastards at W+K, sorry CP+B, do, in fact, understand the glory of college basketball. With apologies to our MU fans, Rock Chalk.

Two ways to be part of our Super Bowl podcast

Sb43_mark Although our opinion on the Super Bowl is really the final word (I mean, come on), we do truly welcome your thoughts on this year's Super Bowl spots. Tug and I will be recording the podcast during the game. You can play along two ways. If you Twitter you can get a message to us with an @americopywriter reply or direct message. Or you can use the handy/dandy Mobasoft audio comment system. This year, we're considering more than just simple liked it/didn't like it. We're going to also consider "is it Super Bowl worthy?" A spot may be good, but fail to shine brightly enough for advertising's biggest stage. Our motto is, go big or go home. Our guess? Coke or Bud will win the day. But, like they say, this is why we play the game. Both Tug and I have strived to remain spoiler-free refraining from viewing pre-released spots in order to give you our virgin opinions.  So, hunker down, get your snack on and enjoy advertising's biggest day. Cheers.

World of World of Warcraft

Painfully funny because it is painfully true. I love a good Mage.

WWLJD?

I place this in the "homage" category. Am I wrong? What would Leeroy Jenkins do? Either way, it's interesting that this is ad does double duty for two brands. Do you suppose the T-Shirts with, "I am the law giver!" are already printed? Come to think of it, this Toyota campaign must be created by nerds after my own heart. So far, they've worked in Nessie, meteors from space, a mechanized monster and now WOW.

Have You Ever?

Bubble Some people call it, "Never Have I Ever." Others call it, "I've Never." A few call it, "Well, I Never." And, I think, four people call it, "I Have Never." Whatever it's called in your neck of the woods, I'm talking about the drinking game called, "I Never." This is a game where a statement is made about never having done something, and for those who HAVE done said deed, they take a drink. For example, if the statement "I never hated on a commercial," were made, we all (yes all of us) would have to take a drink.

Usually the game takes place in a bar, basement or campground. But now you can play "I Never" online with your friends who live across the street, or far, far away. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
