Sheesh PETA, this spot's righteous indignation is at about 50 and I need it closer to 4.
For the record, I have no problem with vegetarianism. (I myself dabbled in it. Not in 'Nam of course.) It's just that I just don't want to be made to guilty for taking part in something as American as Thanksgiving.
*BuzzFeed is reporting that NBC won't air it.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference PETA says "Don't eat a turkey this year." I just say, "Pass the gravy.":

Everything I need to know about advertising I learned from Star Wars
I thought I'd hate this spot...and I didn't. It's not brilliant, but it's kind of clever and gets their point across, albeit through shock & awe.

I am a vegetarian, and I find PETA's ads annoying because they stretch bits of the truth for shock value and render the whole message ineffective. In this case they lost me at "people who think it's fun to stomp on their little turkey heads." I doubt anyone working at a turkey slaughterhouse is doing it for fun, and in putting it that way, they make people doubt the veracity of the entire message. That's a shame, because otherwise they make some solid, provable points.

So much for getting your message out... lame.
